Superconducting quantum circuits are one of the most promising platforms for realizing large-scale quantum computing devices in the near future. However, scaling-up superconducting quantum devices to more than several hundred qubits still faces considerable challenges and will require novel concepts and technologies to distribute quantum states and entanglement in a fast and robust way. This includes quantum communication within a single chip, but also between separated dilution refrigerators for building local- and wide-area quantum networks based on superconducting technology.

This workshop is sponsored by the European project SuperQuLAN and specifically addresses questions related to the scalability of superconducting quantum computers and the realization of superconducting quantum networks within and beyond the boundaries imposed by a single dilution refrigerator. Topics for this workshop include intra- and inter-chip quantum communication, cryogenic quantum links, microwave-to-optics conversion, quantum state transfer protocols and distributed quantum algorithms as well as many other topics related to the realization and operation of large-scale quantum networks in general.

The conference will take place in the “TUtheSky”, a unique conference room provided by the TU Wien, from where you have a splendid view over the city of Vienna. The conference site can be easily reached from the airport by public transport and from there it is only a 10-20 min walk to the inner city.

Accommodation: For invited speakers, their accompanying team members and all participants associated with SuperQuLAN, we have blocked rooms from Sep. 11th (check in) to Sep 15th (check out) in the Hotel Secession (Getreidemarkt 5, A-1060 Wien), just next to the conference site. If you want to use one of those rooms (single bed room, including breakfast), please indicate the corresponding dates in the registration form. Do not book the room yourself!

Otherwise, there are plenty of hotels within walking distance to the conference locations. For any questions related accomodation please send us an email.

Directions:
From Hauptbahnhof (Vienna central station)…
… take the U1 directed „Leopoldau“ until Karlsplatz. Take the exit “Secession”. From there it is in walking distance.

From Wesbahnhof (West railway station)…
… take the U3 directed „Simmering“ to Landstraße. Change there into the U4 directed „Hütteldorf“ to Karlsplatz. Take the exit “Secession”. From there it is in walking distance.

From the airport…
… take the S-Bahn directed „Floridsdorf“ until Landstraße/Wien Mitte. Change there into the U4 directed „Hütteldorf“ to Karlsplatz. Take the exit “Secession”. From there it is in walking distance.

While a COVID test is not mandatory here are some information on where you can get tested in Vienna in case you have symptoms or just want to be safe.

We will also provide a few Antigen-tests at the registration if you need one.

The registration for this event is closed.
